Holiday fun and fears

So its that time of year again, our annual jaunt to Center Parcs Longford for their Christmas Wonderland spectacular.  The dog has been packed off to the sitters, the kids have been waiting excitedly for this for months and after a very short train ride from Dublin we arrived.  Now firstly let me say that our atypical daughter has been on the ball with packing and she was also in charge of train snacks and she done a brilliant job, what can be an overwhelming and daunting experience she is handling very well.  With a well placed seat beside mammy on the train and her ear defenders when needed she is taking control.  Me on the other hand, i got a touch of the time blindness at times and also found day one very loud at times.  The trip my wife has organized couldn't be better with plans for the kids to see Santa and she is also making sure to coordinate with nana and grandad and also with her sister and her young family.  There are going to be 2 very happy and excitable young boys when they meet santa.

Day one consisted of a brilliant family meal that went smoothly and everyone just enjoyed good company and some good food-the star being some Chicken wings Grandad got lol.

I found the swimming pool a lot- I'm just over a flu and the place just felt cold and very loud- after the day travelling and being on edge to make sure that we got here safe and had everything we needed, it was probably just that bit too much at the time- and that's on me to step up and say that-maybe i just hang back a few mins and get my head straight before going into a packed subtropical world.  

the day did finish really well with a spin around the lake on our bikes at he end of the evening, the kids love that and to be honest so do I- its cool out so there is  a nice breeze, its very still so means you can hear yourself think and also it helps me and my daughter come down a few steps before we get home to our lodge.  And our youngest loves the spin in the bike trailer, its the highlight for him coming here.  

All in all a good day one- I just need to plan a little smarter for today and bring my earbuds with me especially when i head out for coffee first thing
